The Officine Panerai workshop opened in 1860 at Ponte alle Grazie in Florence by Giovanni Panerai. It was also the city’s first watchmaking school. In 1936, on the eve of the World War II, Panerai created the first prototypes of the model known as “Radiomir” for the frogman commandos of the First Submarine Group Command of the Royal Italian Navy. Since, the brand’s watches are a natural blend of Italian design, Swiss technology and passion for the sea. Each of the watches made are a combination of tradition and innovation.
