Introduction
Established in 1710, the House of Creed’s lineage stretches over seven generations of creative artisans. The pioneering and entrepreneurial heritage of the brand has generated an unmatched international prestige which is widely admired.
Founded by James Creed, who started life in London as a gentleman’s tailor, an artisan of his time whose creativity has been woven through the generations, from bakers to tailors to perfumers, the Creed family are true masters of the arts. As luxury tailors, they travelled around Europe dressing royalty, most notably Princess Eugenie who wore a Creed couture piece to the opening of the Suez Canal in 1869.
By 1869 the Creed family owned ateliers both in London and Paris, creating clothing and fragrances for royalty and international dignitaries world-wide. In 1885, Henry Creed was awarded the British Royal Warrant as a tailor to Queen Victoria - a prestigious and coveted title that was exceptionally well-received across Europe. As the Creed legacy flourished so did their love of Paris, and it was here that the fragrance business would excel.
In 1970 Olivier Creed, sixth generation Master Perfumer, joined the family business and made Creed available to the public for the first time. Followed by his son Erwin, the two have travelled the world whilst creating some of the most iconic fragrances of our generation, establishing Creed as a truly modern fragrance house with deep rooted heritage and tradition.
To this day, Creed fragrances are made using the traditional art of the Milliesime technique, preserving their originality and timeless essence. The finest ingredients from across the globe are handpicked, weighed, mixed and macerated in the Creed factory located just outside of Paris.
