Blooms and blossoms may have flourished over the catwalks for SS19, but they’re also a year-round favourite. Perfect for every occasion, they look great for weddings, date nights and can be paired with jeans or a demin jacket for a casual look, so expect the trend to continue into AW19, too.
Paris-based designer Christian Louboutin escaped to his idyll in Melides, which is located on a large lagoon in Portugal, to sketch his SS19 collection. The resulting vibrant designs feature pretty espadrilles and stylish flats that will take you from the city to your summer holidays. We’re loving the pink floral print Jacobella sandals, fashioned from satin crepe and a rope wedge heel; and the satin Spetsos sandals, featuring a gold raffia-wrapped sole.
DOLCE & GABANNA
Nobody does sumptuous romance like Dolce & Gabbana. And these guys certainly know how to channel nature and the bright petals framing many vistas around Italy. You’ll find florals popping up everywhere, from pretty holiday-vibe midi dresses and wedge heels to dramatic eyewear – think feminine oversized butterfly frames decorated with acetate floral applications, crystals and jewels. The Pre-Autumn 19 Portofino collection is bursting with colourful florals, while the Lilium collection captures the timeless elegance of lilies.
Whichever way you look at it, original style never ages. So it’s no wonder that Gucci’s iconic floral print continues to be reinterpreted season after season. The pre-Autumn 19 collection is no exception – a silk tunic and trousers feature the print on a black background, complemented by a star trim. Meanwhile, retro sportswear is mixed with classic Gucci floral symbols for contemporary cosy activewear.
