Shopping, movies, dinners with friends & family, a stroll in the park & much more – Al Maryah Central has it all. Once launched combined with The Galleria there will be 400 specialty stores, more than 100 dining options, VIP services, tranquil parks, 21-screen VOX multiplex cinema, two renowned department stores, giant carousel and the most exciting combination of entertainment and edutainment the capital has ever seen, Al Maryah Central with The Galleria will be the next generation mall in the UAE. 

Drawing inspiration from some of the best facilities in the world, the architecture has been precision-planned, encompassing private prayer rooms, convenient parking and easy access from multiple entrances. It connects to The Galleria on Al Maryah Island and is set to become the ‘go-to’ spot of an all-new downtown Abu Dhabi.

Al Maryah Central in Numbers

The mall’s structure comprises an 185,000 metre-cubed concrete frame poured in situ. Approximately 15 million man-hours have been dedicated as of January 2017.

Al Maryah Central will offer a diverse mix of retail, dining, entertainment and family activities to the anticipated 15,000 people who will live and work on Al Maryah Island.

In partnership with the largest retailers in the Middle East, Al Maryah Central will feature the first Bloomingdale’s in Abu Dhabi and the first Macy’s outside of the USA, a number of specialty stores and  multiple food courts, including the unique dining area known as Central Kitchens. Air-conditioned pedestrian bridges and walkways, flanked by the region’s most sought-after brands including a 35,000sqft flagship Zara, a 21 screen, multiplex flagship VOX with IMAX Cinemas, The Toy Store and a 30,000sqft Waitrose supermarket, will put the newest edition to the capital’s shopping options at the forefront.

Family time

Fun starts with family at Al Maryah Central in the form of Family World situated on the rooftop of one of the existing parking structures. Anchored with the newest in edutainment, along with youth-oriented retail, it’s an expansive outdoor play area and park featuring a grand carousel, themed dining and an outdoor cinema. 

An activity-based sports and retail attraction labelled Adventure World will be located atop of the other existing parking structures along with themed dining options. Al Maryah Central will also be home to a 21-screen VOX cinema, which features the dining experience THEATRE by Rhodes, a collaboration with English Michelin Star chef Gary Rhodes.

So what can we expect?

Al Maryah Central will offer something for everyone. It’s a 2.8 million-square-foot mall and will be home to the first Macy’s outside of the United States and the first Bloomingdale’s in Abu Dhabi. It will complement The Galleria, Abu Dhabi’s luxury shopping and dining destination, to create a fully-integrated, seamless experience, catering to the diverse tastes and expectations of Abu Dhabi’s residents and visitors alike. Shopaholics will be in their element with more than 60 plus brands announnced including a giant Zara, All Saints and Lululemon. Al Maryah Central is a vision being brought to life by leading developer, Gulf Related, also responsible for The Galleria on Al Maryah Island.

Community Talks

The entire project has been designed with customers, residents and professionals, many from the surrounding office buildings, in mind, offering a place for everyone. A public library, medical centre and crèche will create a sense of community to Abu Dhabi residents. Freestanding mosque-like prayer rooms will be a key feature of Al Maryah Central’s rooftop design, adjoining a tranquil park with a naturally-lit courtyard. The destination will also offer VIP drop off, valet parking, and concierge facilities, as well as serviced waiting areas. The Galleria and Al Maryah Central are set to be the beating heart of Abu Dhabi.

Food, glorious food

Al Maryah Central, together with The Galleria on Al Maryah Island, will offer a collection of one of the most exciting gastronomical offerings in Abu Dhabi – showcasing formal and casual dining options.

Featuring a variety of dining experiences, Al Maryah Central’s Central Kitchens provides a wonderful day-to-night, stress-free place to rest and refuel. Five unique areas, including The Garden Kitchen, The Courtyard, The Living Room, The Patio and The Study, will enable Al Maryah Central’s visitors to move from one room to another, as you would in a home – changing settings, depending on mood and preferences. 

Drawing inspiration from traditional Arabic patterns and textures, the design of Central Kitchens on Level 3 has been modernised and abstracted. With full height views from East to West, Central Kitchens overlooks Abu Dhabi Global Market Square and Reem Island.
